80th Anniversary of VE Day
Bognor Regis will join communities across the country in marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a special beacon lighting ceremony on Thursday 8 May 2025. The beacon will be lit at 9.30pm alongside others across the UK, Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man, symbolising the ‘light of peace’ that emerged from the darkness of war
The Town Mayor and Town Crier will open the event from 9.15pm, accompanied by two pipers from the Scots Guards.
The beacon will be lit at 9.30pm
accompanied by The Town Crier leading the singing of 'I Vow To Thee My Country', followed by a mesmerising electric LED violin performance from the unmatched talents of Alleya, who has performed on Xfactor and alongside Duran Duran & Take That, to name but a few.
This FREE event is organised by Bognor Regis Town Council and event details are correct at the time of going to print but all events may be subject to change and subject to land permissions from Arun District Council.
