Children's Commissioner's National Survey - The Big Future

Published: 22 July 2026

For the first time hundreds of thousands of children will be eligible to vote in the next general election at age 16, the biggest change to the franchise in half a century – yet just one in five children say politicians listen to them.

The Final Survey is asking children about the changes they want to see in their communities, their biggest concerns, and their hopes for the future. Additionally, what they think a good childhood should look like, now and in the future.

The survey link is here (https://www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/the-big-future/ Please complete the survey by latest end play on 23 October 2026 as the Children’s Commissioner will be very keen to hear from children/young people in the area.
