Mayor hosts annual Civic Reception

Published: 31 March 2025

On Thursday evening, Bognor Regis Town Council held their annual Civic Reception, hosted by the Mayor, Cllr Miss Claire Needs, at ‘Seasons’, Bognor Regis Town Football Club.

The evening was an opportunity to thank the many organisations, charities and community groups who work tirelessly to provide opportunities, services and events for the people of Bognor Regis. Some of these organisations are thanked through the provision of Grant Aid, following successful applications, cheques for which were presented by Cllr Miss Needs at the Civic Reception.

Cheques were also presented to the Town Council’s Partnership Funding recipients, including Bognor Regis Carnival Association, Bognor Regis Heritage & Arts Partnership Board, Southdowns Music Festival and Bognor Regis Seafront Lights. Thank you to the Chairs of WSCC, and ADC and all the other local dignitaries for attending, and to all our invited guests for joining us for this evening of thanks and celebration.

Also present were our wonderful Town Crier, Jane Smith, and performances from the West Sussex Music String Quartet were a wonderful addition to the evening’s proceedings. Thank you also to Nicky Clark from the Mayor’s chosen charity for the year - Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, for addressing those present on the important work of the charity, and how donations go toward helping children and families requiring their services.

A big thank you to all who attended and congratulations to our Grant Aid recipients, and award winners, Kez Dunnaway and Tali Swain, both of whom have made outstanding contributions to the Town, receiving the Mayor’s Good Citizen Award and Citizen’s Award for Young People, respectively.
