Civic Reception 2024

Published: 02 April 2024

On Wednesday 27th March 2024, Bognor Regis Town Council held their annual Civic Reception, hosted by the Mayor, Cllr. Francis Oppler, at ‘Seasons’.
The evening acts as an opportunity to thank the many organisations, charities and community groups who work tirelessly to provide opportunities, services and events for the people of Bognor Regis. Some of these organisations are thanked through the provision of Grant Aid funding, cheques for which were presented by Cllr. Oppler at the Civic Reception. Cheques were also presented to the Town Council’s Partnership Funding recipients, including Bognor Regis Heritage & Arts Partnership Board, Southdown’s Music Festival and the Bognor Regis Seafront Lights.
A big thank you to the new Chair of WSCC, Vice-Chair of ADC and all the other local dignitaries for attending, and to all of our invited guests for joining us for this evening of thanks and celebration.
Also present were our wonderful Town Crier, Jane Smith, and we enjoyed some rousing performances from the West Sussex Music ‘Urban Brass Band’, a group of students from around the locality, who recently won ‘gold’ at the Chichester Festival of Music, Dance and Speech.
Thank you also to Jane and Simon Wilde from the Mayor’s chosen charity for the year - West Sussex Wildlife Protection, for their very informative talk and demonstration of some of the equipment they use in their rescues.
A big thank you to all who attended and congratulations to our Grant Aid recipients, and award winners, Kerrie-Ann Davies and Glenn Maher, both of whom have made outstanding contributions to the Town, receiving the Citizens Award for Young People and Mayor’s Good Citizen Award respectively.
