Bognor Regis in Bloom Awards Evening 2022

Sponsors and Category Winners.

The Bognor Regis in Bloom 2022 Awards Evening was held recently at the Shore Community Church on Victoria Drive.

After the restrictions of the last two years, it was great to see so many entrants, sponsors and guests join with members of the Bognor Regis in Bloom Working Group in celebrating the wonderful achievements of our local residential and business gardeners.

We had a fantastic turn out from this year’s entrants which included children from South Bersted C.E. School, the evening was opened by the Mayor of Bognor Regis, Cllr John Barrett and Town Crier, Mrs Jane Smith.

Also in attendance was the Chair of Arun District Council, Cllr Samantha-Jayne Staniforth, representatives from the sponsors and one of this year’s Guides competition winners, Alexa-Rose Hardy. The Awards Evening was hosted by Bognor Regis in Bloom Chair, Mr. Pat Dillon.

The 2022 competition had a special category of best garden with the design theme of “red, white and blue” to celebrate the late Queen’s Jubilee and, in one of the highlights of the evening, the first prize was awarded to one of the youngest entrants – Tommy Morgan.

Margaret Huntingdon, former Chair of the In Bloom Working Group gave the closing speech that included a call for more volunteers to join the Group. Anyone interested should email the Bognor Regis in Bloom Committee Clerk: stevedavis@bognorregis.gov.uk or call: 01243 867744.

A huge thank you to our category sponsors, to the In Bloom Working Group and to everyone who took the time to enter this year.
