Remembrance

Published: 12 November 2018

Sunday 11th November 2018 was a special day this year which saw Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day observed alongside commemorative events marking the day 100 years ago when the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War.

The Town  Council wishes to express its sincere thanks to all those who joined us to remember the fallen at our service yesterday morning.  Parade participants, spectators, local organisations and civic leaders all came together, regardless of the questionable weather conditions, to show the utmost respect on what was such a significant day in all our histories.

To see our town come together with such united force was genuinely heartwarming, and the Town Council are proud to have shared this moment with you.

Following the Service there was a small gathering in the Council Chamber, during which the Roll of Honour for 1914 to 1919 showing the names of those lost from the Bognor area as compiled by Chris Comber was displayed.
