Further to the Town Council’s Civic Reception hosted last week, cheques were presented by the Mayor, for Partnership Funding, from the Town Council to  the Bognor Regis Heritage and Arts Partnership Board, Southdowns Music Festival and Bognor Regis Seafront Lights.

The Town Council hope the funding will support the important work and initiatives of the Board, including the very successful Punch and Judy Festival. The Town Council’s Policy and Resources Committee therefore agreed to provide a financial contribution of £2,000 per annum to the Bognor Regis Heritage and Arts Partnership Board, for the next three years. The cheque was presented to their Chair, Ken Blamires, who brought along his good friend ‘Mr Punch’, who was equally as thrilled with the Town Council’s contribution!

The Southdowns Music Festival continues to be a big event for the Town each year, attracting thousands of visitors to Bognor Regis, over the course of the weekend. In support of the tourism and benefits it brings to the local community every year, the Southdowns Music Festival has also been awarded funding over a three-year period. Roger Nash, as Chair was very pleased to receive the cheque, which will go toward the costs of producing another musical extravaganza later this year.

Partnership Funding has also been awarded to the Bognor Regis Seafront Lights, who do a terrific job of providing and maintaining the decorative illuminations along the seafront, which are extremely well received by residents and visitors alike.
