A fantastically productive beach clean last Friday, as part of the #GBSpringClean. Thanks to everyone who came along, including Bognor Regis Community Cleans and Sussex Wildlife Trust. It was extremely useful to complete the litter picking surveys which have been submitted to the Marine Conservation Society!
Some highlights from the Survey:
- 666 items were surveyed
- Of these 453 pieces / 68% were plastic
- 47.6% of the items were directly from the public - such as ketchup sachets/ chip forks/ straws etc.
- 9.46% / 63 items were directly from fishing - net pieces being the most prevalent
