Rainbows Wildflower Seed Planting!
The Working Group would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the lovely 2nd Bersted Rainbows who came along recently to help plant up a small site in the town in need of a 'spruce up'. The Rainbows provided the wildflower seeds and along with some of the In Bloom members helped to prep the ground and plant them! Around 100 seeds were planted so if you're passing the Place St Maur in the next few months be on the look out for some lovely colourful wildflowers! WELL DONE to all involved- a real TEAM effort!!!
In Bloom Litter Pick Success!
The Bognor Regis in Bloom Working Group would like to say a massive THANK YOU to those of you who gave up your time to lend a hand in the 'clean up' of Bluebell Wood (aka Milberry Wood) as part of the nationwide initiative 'The Great British Spring Clean'.
It certainly was worthwhile- 22 bags of litter was collected form the area- including a bike and a metal lamp post!!!
Pumpkin competition a 'smashing'
Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes were brought along to the Rox Halloween event at Hotham Park on Saturday- with some truly giant results! Entrants included ABC Hook Lane Nursery, Bognor South District Guides and Jed Cheesman, whose pumpkin weighed in at a very impressive 13.5 kilos!
A massive thank you to all the entrants that took the time to grow and nurture their pumpkins and for coming along on the day- we hope you are all very proud of your creations! Pumpkin soup all round!

ITS SILVER GILT!!!
Bognor Regis received a top award in the South& South East In Bloom Competition for 2014. The results were announced on 17th September at the Amex Stadium in Brighton at a ceremony sponsored by Southern Water. The event was attended by hundreds of entrants from across the region and Bognor Regis was proud to achieve not only Silver Gilt, but was also crowned Category Winner in the Small Coastal Town Category for 2014. Chairman, Greg Burt and Margaret Huntingdon, received the award on behalf of the Bognor Regis In Bloom Working Party. Despite the title, the In Boom Competition is about far more than just flowers. The South & South East In Bloom judges give marks for cleanliness of the streets, community awareness and involvement as well as water conservation, recycling and environment friendly practises.
